Service Selection & Budget Guidance supports individuals and families as they make sense of New Jersey Medicaid waiver services, DDD budgets, and provider options. We translate technical terms into plain language, so everyone understands what the person is entitled to and how those funds can be used.

Together, we review the person's goals and needs, then look at which services-such as Community Based Supports, Individual Supports, Respite, or Community Inclusion-fit best. We explain how many hours may be realistic, how different services interact, and what trade-offs might be involved.

We also walk families through comparing providers, asking good questions, and planning for changes over time. Our guidance helps Support Coordinators and caregivers build plans that are both person-centered and financially sound, reducing surprises later in the year and making the most of every dollar in the approved budget.
